Most likely, you won’t need to apply for any Building Regulations or planning permissions if your building has an interior floor area of up to 15m2 with an overall height of less than 2.5m. Even if your garden building falls within these limits, it’s a good idea to contact your local planning agency to get the answers to all your questions. You will have peace of mind knowing that everything is in order with your garden office or hobby room. Don’t panic if your garden room or summer house exceeds the permitted limits. You should contact your local planning office to get an accurate instruction on what you must do to comply with all rules and obtain the necessary permissions. We have found that clients who apply for planning permission to build larger gardens buildings take no longer than 4-6 weeks.
Wooden buildings: Some peculiarities Proper care.
Wood is a natural material that grows and adapts to the weather, especially the first month after assembly. You will need to adjust the doors and windows several times after the wooden cabin is erected. Then, once or twice a year to ensure that they work properly. Wood’s inherent characteristics include small cracks, knots, and color tonal differences. After assembly, it is crucial to apply a wood preservative stain or another protective coating. Untreated wood can become grayish and turn to moldy or rot if it is not treated. It is recommended that floor boards be treated with a wood impregnation product before installation. This is especially important for the bottom side of the boards. Your log cabin’s life expectancy will be significantly increased if it has been properly treated. It is a good idea to inspect your summer home once a year and to follow the instructions of the wood preservative manufacturer.

Waterproof packaging will be used to deliver your log cabin or garden structure. This will ensure that they are not affected by weather conditions during shipping. The driver will not be able to help with unpacking your garden building. Delivery is curbside only. The dimensions of your building will determine the vehicle size and delivery method. The vehicle will be equipped with the following equipment: tail lift, forklift truck, or crane that can unload and move heavy packages (700-2500 kg). Prefabricated panels and other wooden details are ready for installation (like a huge Lego set). The standard log cabin kit includes impregnated foundation beams, untreated walls logs / panels, roof and flooring boards, windows, doors, roofing felt and storm braces.
